Film Synopsis:
Emily is left feeling hopeless after seeing the state of the coral reef during her Island trip. Enter the mischievous Iluka, who leads Emily on a wild chase across the island. In the end, below the waves, Emily regains her hope of a beautiful future for the Great Barrier Reef.

About the film
The Beauty Below was a project I first conceptualized back in High School. It was initially a story about a young girl who meets a merboy. In my second year at Griffith Film School, I developed the story as a short film that I later pitched as one of the graduate films.
The film was inspired by my childhood growing up in far north Queensland. I wanted to make a film showing my love for the tropical environment and the reef conservation efforts being made to combat climate change and pollution.
